I am a Diné weaver from Phoenix, AZ. I was introduced to weaving through the Phoenix Indian Center in 2011, and I have been a weaving instructor at the Phoenix Indian Center’s Navajo Culture program since 2014. Over the past several years I have been fortunate enough to meet and learn from some amazing master weavers, and participate in the Master Artist Workshop Series program through the Heard Museum, to learn the culture of Navajo weaving and techniques.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Arizona State University and I have worked as a student archaeologist with the Navajo Nation and at the Archaeological Research Institute at Arizona State University. I have a Master of Science degree in Geographic Information Systems Technology from the University of Arizona, and I currently work in GIS in electric utilities for an engineering consulting firm.
