The source for date is: Catalogue of Title Entries of Books and Other Articles Entered in the Office of the Register of Copyrights, Library of Congress, at Washington, Volume 35, Treasury Department, 1903, p. 291. The image was also published as part of the set: Keystone Primary Units, Stereographic and Lantern Slides, Indians of the Southwest. Meadville, Pa., Keystone View Company, c. 1905-1910. The original negative is held in the collections of the California Museum of Photography, UC Riverside. The trading post was established in 1866 by Fred W. Volz, a former railroad telegrapher turned Indian trader. He left in 1910. Source: Ann T.
